week3 #7
I was trying out the latest apple photo app. and was I impressed! It has some new catagories to organize and view your pics; Faces and Places. I'll start with faces which uses face recognition to allow you to store images of people according to their face technology that learns how to recognize faces. All you need to do is select a face, label it with a name and it automatically creates a file with their info from your contacts then you just select more of the same faces in different pics you have and it start recognizing each face you have labeled and sorts them into their own file. The great thiing about it is that you can look for pics with a particular person in mind really cool.
The second catgory for organizing your photos is called places and yes it puts your photos on a map with a pin. You click on a pin to see the photos taken at that particular spot on earth. It's great for vacationers and people who travel . I was able to transfer my iphone pics and now have a map to where I've beeen this summer. You can also view the map in terrain, satellite, or hybrid just like on a GPS system. You can then zoom in and out and have exact info as to where the picture was taken.

#6 week 3 Toys and found this David Hockney collage using http://bighugelabs.com/hockney.php. At first I thought this would be extremely entertaining but then I found out you can't control the placement of the photos but at least you can shuffle till your happy with the image. David Hockney was a 20 c. British artist labeled as Pop Art according to wikipedia. The students in my art classes will definitely enjoy manipulating their image. This app could interest students in digital arts classes where they can learn to manipulate each image.

Week Two Exercise #3
Week 1 Exercise#2
I went through the 7 1/2 Life learner habits and found it interesting and insightful. Habit#5 ; my learning toolbox really only has one person I can use to help me with any tech questions so I hope he can put up with me. I think the first habit; begin with the end in mind was something most people did but now I'm not so sure, teaching Art kind of dictates this habit most of the time.
